Grant Career Center Launches Thanksgiving Food Drive to Support Local Families
Students, staff, and community members are invited to help make Thanksgiving brighter for families in need.
Grant Career Center is coming together this November to make a difference in the lives of local families through its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. Running from Monday, November 2, through Thursday, November 19, 2026, the food drive encourages students, staff, and community members to give back by providing essential items for a traditional Thanksgiving meal.
The goal is simple: help ensure families in our community have the opportunity to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal together.
Building a Thanksgiving Meal Kit
Participants are encouraged to assemble complete Thanksgiving meal kits containing the following items:
2 cans of green beans
2 cans of corn
2 large boxes of instant mashed potatoes
2 jars or packets of turkey or chicken gravy
2 boxes of stuffing
2 boxes of macaroni and cheese
All donated items must be unopened, non-expired, and in their original packaging to ensure they can be safely distributed to families.
A Little Friendly Competition for a Great Cause
Grant Career Center is adding some friendly competition to this year's food drive! Each career-technical lab is encouraged to collect as many complete Thanksgiving meal kits as possible.
Every complete kit earns the lab one point, and the lab that collects the most complete kits will be rewarded with a special meal in The Gallery, Grant Career Center's student-operated restaurant.
While the competition adds excitement, the real reward is knowing that every donation will help support a family during the holiday season.
Community Members Are Welcome to Participate
The Thanksgiving Food Drive isn't limited to Grant students and staff. Community members, families, and local businesses are also encouraged to participate by donating complete meal kits.
Donations can be dropped off at Grant Career Center, November 2–19, 2026.
Through this effort, Grant Career Center hopes to demonstrate the importance of compassion, generosity, and community service while providing students with another opportunity to make a positive impact beyond the classroom.
Together, Grant Nation can help make Thanksgiving a little brighter for our neighbors.
Do Good. Be Great.
