BETHEL, Ohio — Leadership was celebrated. Excellence was recognized. Futures were launched.
Grant Career Center’s annual Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO) Awards Night brought together students, families, staff, and supporters for an evening dedicated to honoring the incredible accomplishments of student leaders who have represented Grant Career Center through competition, service, and professional growth throughout the school year.
Representing nationally recognized career technical student organizations—including SkillsUSA, HOSA-Future Health Professionals, FFA, FCCLA, and Educators Rising Ohio—Grant Career Center students took the spotlight for achievements that extended far beyond the classroom.
Career Technical Student Organizations are a cornerstone of career technical education, providing students opportunities to develop leadership, technical expertise, teamwork, communication skills, and career readiness through authentic, hands-on experiences. Whether competing in healthcare simulations, technical skills contests, agricultural leadership events, public speaking, teaching demonstrations, or service projects, CTSOs help students transform classroom learning into real-world success.
The atmosphere throughout the evening was electric.
As names were called, classmates erupted in applause. Families proudly captured milestone moments. Student leaders crossed the stage representing months—sometimes years—of dedication, preparation, and perseverance.
The ceremony began with welcoming remarks from Superintendent Mike Parry and Principal Barry Daulton, setting the stage for a night focused on recognizing excellence and celebrating the life-changing impact of career technical education.
This year, more than 100 Grant Career Center students earned state-level recognition, qualified for state competition, or achieved major CTSO milestones, while more than 20 students are advancing to national competition this summer to represent Grant Career Center on the national stage.
That achievement reflects not only competitive excellence, but the strength of Grant Career Center’s commitment to preparing students for success in college, careers, and life.
Students recognized throughout the evening represented a wide range of pathways:
SkillsUSA, where students demonstrate excellence in skilled trades, technical careers, leadership, and workplace readiness.
HOSA-Future Health Professionals, preparing future healthcare leaders through competitive healthcare events and professional development.
FFA, developing leadership, service, and agricultural career readiness through one of the nation’s most respected youth leadership organizations.
FCCLA, empowering students in family and consumer sciences through leadership and career-focused competitions.
Educators Rising, inspiring and preparing the next generation of teachers and education professionals.
These organizations build confidence, create lasting friendships, and challenge students to step into leadership roles while discovering talents they may never have known they possessed. What stood out most during Awards Night was not simply the number of medals, qualifications, or recognitions—it was the culture. A culture where students cheer one another on, where achievement is celebrated, where hard work matters, and where young people are consistently challenged to become the very best version of themselves.
For many students, CTSOs become some of the most transformative experiences of high school.
These organizations help students discover who they are, what they are capable of, and where their future may lead.
What was celebrated during Awards Night went far beyond competition results.
It was leadership.
It was growth.
It was confidence.
It was Grant students choosing to be great.
As Grant Career Center students prepare to compete this summer against the nation’s best, one message rang loud and clear throughout the evening:
Grant Nation is ready.
Choose to be Great.
