BETHEL, OH– Grant Career Center recently upped its game with advanced Haas CNC technology, including 5-axis machining, live-tool turning with Y-axis, and automation, to better prepare high school students for careers in modern manufacturing. Working with advanced manufacturing technology helps students learn to design parts with manufacturability in mind, which is important in the real world.
In this video, Engineering Design Instructor Tobin Huebner shares his focus on not just teaching students to design and make one good part, but rather how to design and manufacture at scale. This lesson is showcased in the students’ Coaster Coaster project, assembled from components they designed and machined themselves on Haas equipment.
