Today marked an exciting opportunity for students from Grant Career Center as they embarked on a journey to explore potential career paths in the transportation industry. Focused on fields such as construction technology, automotive technology, and more, these students, driven by a shared interest in working for the state of Ohio, visited ODOT Region 8 for an informational session and equipment showcase.



Participating in the M.A.C.C Tech Industry Recognized Credential Curriculum (Mining, Asphalt, Concrete, and Construction), these students were eager to gain firsthand knowledge and insights into the diverse opportunities available within the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT). The visit not only aligned with their academic pursuits but also provided a practical understanding of the skills and expertise required in the transportation sector.

The day began with an engaging informational session hosted by ODOT representatives. Students learned about the critical role ODOT plays in maintaining and enhancing Ohio's transportation infrastructure, as well as the various career pathways within the organization. From engineering and project management to maintenance and operations, the session illuminated the breadth of opportunities awaiting those with a passion for the transportation industry.

Following the informational session, students had the unique opportunity to explore ODOT's extensive range of equipment firsthand.
