Gary Broadwell Memorial Award
2023 Student Application
This award is open to all Grant Career Center high school seniors with a 2.75 GPA who have received a letter of acceptance from a post-secondary institution, an apprenticeship program, or who supply proof of employment related to their program. Preference will be given to the student who is furthering education in a program related to the student’s Grant Career Center program or field of study. This year there will be three (3) $1,5000 awards given to students who are in programs other than Engineering Design and three (3) $500 awards given to students in an apprenticeship program or program-related employment.
Please complete the application and submit by 2:00 P.M. on April 28, 2023. The student should also complete Part I of each Teacher Recommendation Form and give one to each of the three teachers from whom you are requesting a recommendation. The Teacher Recommendation Forms should be given to teachers no later than April 14, 2023.
The Gary Broadwell Memorial Award is based on point totals in the following criteria:
Attendance 5 points
GPA 5 points
Teacher recommendation 15 points
Written Responses 15 points
Attendance and GPA is based on the applicant’s junior and first semester of senior year. In the event of a tie, the following criteria will be considered:
