Separate sealed bids for the construction of Cosmetology Classroom and Lab within Clermont County, Ohio will be received by the KBA, Incorporated Architects, 4357 Ferguson Drive, Suite 200, Cincinnati, Ohio 45245 until 12:00 P.M., Local Time on May 26, 2015, and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 P.M. School Board action on the bid will take at a special meeting in June. Bids shall be submitted in a sealed envelope, addressed to KBA, Incorporated Architects at the above noted address. Envelope shall be clearly marked: “BID FOR COSMETOLOGY PROGRAM CLASSROOM AND LAB”.

Work under this contract is generally defined as the interior alterations to an existing classroom area of approximately 4.846 square feet. at the U.S. Grant Career center at 718 West Plane Street, Bethel, Ohio 45106.

The construction documents, the information for Bidders, Form of Bid, Form of Contract, Plans, and Specifications including Forms of Bid Bond, Performance-Payment Bond, and other Contractor Documents may be examined at the following Locations:

Beginning May 1, 2015, copies of the Plans and Specifications, etc., may be obtained during normal business hours at the office of ARC Reprographics; 2863 E. Sharon Road; Cincinnati, Ohio 45241; (513) 326-2300 upon payment of $50.00 for each set of full sized plans and specifications (plus any applicable shipping charges), none of which is refundable. Contract documents may be reviewed without charge during business hours at the architect’s office, KBA, Incorporated, 4357 Ferguson Drive, Suite 200, Cincinnati, Ohio 45245. Electronic files can be requested from KBA Architects at no charge.

Each bid must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty in the form of either a Bid Guaranty or Contract Bond for the full amount of the bid or a certified check, cashier’s check, or an irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to 10% of the bid in accordance with the instructions to bidders.
Attention of Bidders is particularly called to the requirements as to safety regulations, conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract. All bids must comply with the General Instructions to Bidders in addition to the requirements set forth in the Specifications Documents referenced herein in order to be considered. Bid bonds must be filed with original signatures. Facsimile and electronic copies of the bid bond and Power of Attorney of the Surety will be deemed non-responsive.

Contractors will be required to furnish an Affidavit of Contractor or Supplier on Non-delinquency of Personal Property Tax (O.R.C. 5719.042).

A Pre-Bid meeting will be held on site on 05/06/2015 at 1:00 P.M. Local Time.

No Bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of 60 days after the actual date of the opening thereof.

Contract award shall be made to the lowest and best bidder, and award may be subject to applicable funding agency approval.

U.S. Grant Career Center, reserves the right to waive any informalities or to reject any or all bids. The right to negotiate with the apparent qualified low Bidder to such extent that should be necessary is reserved by U.S. Grant Career Center.
