Overview
In the College Tech Prep Allied Health Science program, students will develop the academic skills necessary for clinical health careers. This challenging college tech prep program will prepare the students to enter the varied fields of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services in direct patient care.
This program will allow students to pursue a college degree in one of the clinical health areas to develop a lifelong career as a health care provider.
Students will attend Grant Career Center for the college tech prep block which will consist of training in the medical lab and at clinical sites. Students will then return to their home school to take the following college preparatory academics:
- Chemistry/Physics
- Algebra II and above
- English
- American History or Government
Admission Requirements
- Completed Algebra I with at least a"B" average
- Completed Biology and one other college prep science class with at least a "B"
- 95% attendance
- Junior standing with no academic or OGT deficiencies
- 2.5 grade-point average on a four point non-weighted scale
