How do I register?
- Register by Mail: Mail application is convenient and recommended. Complete a application form downloaded from this site or use the forms printed in local newspapers at the beginning of each term. Mail the completed form and payment, check or money order for the full amount of the class made out to Grant Career Center; or charge by credit card (MasterCard or Visa). Unless you hear otherwise, assume you are in the class. Enroll early to avoid the disappointment of a full or canceled class.
- Register in Person: Stop by the Career Center Adult Education Office. Office hours are from 8:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- To register for a full-time program, call 513.734.6222 extension 3228 or 3105, to schedule an appointment.
Who may register?
application is open to anyone 16 years of age or older for our part-time classes. The full-time program, Computerized Business and Medical applications, requires a high school diploma or GED.
Certification
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to each part-time student who has satisfactorily completed the required hours for each course. Full-time courses require 90 percent attendance and 70 percent academic average to receive their certificate.
Senior Citizens
Special senior citizen tuition rates are available for students 62 years or older. This $10 fee is good for part-time evening classes excluding Continuing Education classes for cosmetologists and one-night classes. Supplies and textbooks are an additional expense.
Tuition and Fees
All adult education part-time classes are self-supporting. The application fee is due in full at the time of application. Partial payments will not be accepted. applications must be received one week prior to the start of class. Classes will be held based on paid applications.
School Closings Due to Weather or Emergency
Closing of evening Adult Education classes will be announced after 2 p.m. on the Grant Career Center phone line, 734-6222, our website, grantcareer.com, or major television channels and radio station websites. If the high school is closed it does NOT mean adult evening classes will be canceled. Check the above-mentioned sources after 2 p.m. for an announcement about canceled evening classes.
Textbooks and Supplies
Textbooks and most supply fees are included in the class cost. Generally there will be no additional fees required.
Refunds & Cancellations
The Adult Education Department reserves the right to cancel any class. In the event a class is cancelled, a refund of the tuition fee will be made. No refund will be made after the first class unless the class is discontinued. A $5 service fee is charged on all withdrawals. Please allow up to six weeks for the refund to be issued.
Safety
Persons are required to equip themselves with the necessary protective clothing and safety glasses and to adhere to all school and shop regulations. No children are permitted to be in the building or on school grounds during class sessions. A policy meeting will be conducted the first night of class to further discuss building safety.
Financial Aid Options
Full-time students enrolled in Computerized Business and Medical applications may qualify for PELL Grant funds or may use the Hope Scholarship for a tax credit. For additional information on financial aid options, call the Financial Aid Office at 513.734.6222 extension 3228.
Part-time students may take advantage of the Lifelong Learning Tax Credit. Up to 20% of out-of-pocket tuition expenses for qualified classes can be subtracted from your income tax calculation.
GED Classes
Grant Career Center is a GED training site; however, students need to register to take classes. application is completed at the Clermont County Educational Service Center (CCESC), 513.735.8300. Classes are held at Grant Career Center and other Clermont County sites throughout the year.
