The Teacher Academy is for college-bound seniors who want to become professional educators. Students are assigned to externship experiences in area schools where they work in classrooms with professional teacher mentors. These experiences change throughout the year and include exposure to multiple age levels and content areas (early childhood, middle school, high school, special needs, and career-technical education.)
Program completers will create a Capstone Portfolio, which may be considered for college articulation at partnering colleges.
