Culinary Arts students have the opportunity to earn their Servsafe certification while learning about kitchen, equipment, and food safety. They are also encouraged to earn certification and 7 college credits through ProStart that covers a variety of knowledge and skills to include food preparation in sauces, stocks, soups, fruits, vegetables, potatoes, grains, meat, poultry, seafood, baked goods, and global cuisine. Curriculum also covers business essential skills such as communication, nutrition, cost control, purchasing, inventory, marketing, and sustainability.
Education beyond the classroom consists of opportunities working with Maysville CTC and Clermont Mercy through job shadowing and internship experiences. Business professionals mentor students as they work towards scholarship opportunities by competing in ProStart or FCCLA. You can support our students who are competing by donating to our FCCLA account. FCCLA allows our students to raise money for our chef uniforms, plan Culinary related field trips, and compete in regional competitions.
